Appearance: Red brown transparent flakes crystals or crystalline powder.
Solubility: not soluble in ethanol, slowly dissolve in magnessium lactate, very soluble in hot water.
Chemical properties: Calcium lactate solution, by the influence of light and heat gradually reduced to ferrous salts.
